I just begun translating Die Puppe ("The Doll"), a 1919 German silent romantic fantasy comedy directed by the great Ernst Lubitsch. It follows the misadventures of an effete young man who must get married in order to inherit a fortune. He opts to purchase a remarkably lifelike doll and marry it instead, not realizing that the doll is actually the puppet-maker's flesh-and-blood daughter, in disguise. It's going to be fun!!
Just finished working on a 356-page book about the use of QGIS on agriculture and the control of indiscriminate felling.
Just finished a run of press releases, information to shops and SoMe postings about a product recall. Thank goodness for Trados - the client needed everything 'half an hour ago - simply ASAP' ... and finally I turned out nearly 900 words in under two hours! Now I am booked for another rushed job, but not until Monday. Have a nice weekend, everyone!
Currently translating film and TV synopses from English (US) to Portuguese (PT) to be included in a commercial demo to be presented in the imminent International Broadcasting Convention. Lots of new releases, so checking my local cinema to see when some of these beauties are out in my area.
