"como la gente" in Argentine usage means "normal" and in this case I would say "books in order" or "clean (accounting) records"

: Yes, much better than my option. I'd go with "clean (accounting) records" since "clean" also reflects the need for "laundering" the operation.

¡Buen fin de semana!
Otro ejemplo: "Esa costurerita no sabe lo que es arreglar un pantalón. Ya mismo le pongo un cierre metálico como la gente" (es decir: en buen estado, y bien hecho el trabajo).
O sea: "como la gente" es un coloquialismo para algo "en serio", "decente", "bien hecho". O, como dirían los franceses: "comme il faut". :)
