I understand this wooden blocking is to avoid that the boom moves when removing the pins, therefore its a "blocking device". If it must be specified it is made of wood, you could say: "dispositivo de bloqueo de madera" or "bloqueo de madera". I hope it helps you.

Yep, it could mean that, it depends if it is to support the boom, or if it is to block the boom so it doesn't move.

: Perdón pero me parece que no. Lo que están diciendo es que bajes el brazo ahora, apoyándolo en tacos o calces de madera. He traducido un poco sobre grúas y es lo que me parece que tiene sentido.
