This is due in large measure because those who exercise power do so in a way that marginalizes and excludes individuals on the basis of a real or perceived difference, whether ***along axes of location*** (e.g. slum, rural, migrant, refugee, conflict affected, incarcerated or institutionalized), wealth, age, religion, behavior (e.g. sexual practices, gender, work, drug use) and/or ***embodiment*** (e.g. race-ethnicity, disability, sex, health status such as HIV infection or pregnancy).
