This is from a newspaper article about inspection fees for shipping containers in a Dom. Rep. port, I'm trying to figure out what "cva" stands for. My best guess is that it has something to do with "control" or "certificacion" and "visual" or "verificacion" but I haven't been able to find sources, and it needs to refer to a location since the containers are being moved there.
Anyone have any experience in this area? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I can't work out what the letters stand for, but I've found information about the same port, where it just says " área de verificación"-
How I see it is that there are 2 options for inspecting the containers; by x ray or visual inspection, which I think is by a person. It could just be the inspection area.

It could stand for any number of things, centro de verificación, something to do with aduana, but I can't find anything more relevant.
Another example where it's called "patio de verificación"

How I see it is that there are 2 options for inspecting the containers; by x ray or visual inspection, which I think is by a person. It could just be the inspection area.

: Ah yes! Customs/verification area would make sense. I only looked at the Spanish version of that page, but they might be using the English initials.
