Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): philgoddard

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

patinba Aug 24, 2015:
@Donal & Lisa Why not post the answer in the correct place, instead of including it as a discussion entry, which it isn't, making it appear to be unanswered?
Eleanor P (asker) Aug 24, 2015:
That makes perfect sense in the context - thank you!
Lisa McCarthy Aug 24, 2015:
@DLyons Was just going to mention "zero inventory" :-)

Lisa McCarthy Aug 24, 2015:
Stocks zero I think this is a bit vague, unless it refers to everything related to 'zero stocks'. Otherwise it could refer to 'zero-stock inventory management', `zero-stock items`, 'zero-stock levels', etc.

zero inventory

When a pharmacy (in a medical store or health facility) temporarily has no medicine on the shelf, it is known as a “stock-out”. It may affect one medicine or many medicines, or in the worst case, all medicines. A stock-out can be documented at one point-in-time or over a period of days, weeks or months.

neutral philgoddard : I think the idea is that they don't hold stock, period. They buy or make stuff as customers need it.

You mean like a fulfillment center, or drop shipments? It's a possibility.
neutral DLyons : It's a positive thing - they minimize stock-holding costs// Yes, it's the aspiration in JIT. Obviously not completely attainable, as you say.
