Consultar a un nativo es la vía.
Coincido con Juan Jacob, "cabrón" tiene tres significados según el contexto y la entonación de la palabra en ese momento.
Puede estar pasandola bien en la fiesta,... o muy mal. Depende de la entonación.

@Juan Jacob I agree. "Cabrón" can take on very different meanings depending on the context, historical, geographical, social, etc. No way to know without more information.
