inglés term

ballot issue

inglés al español Jurídico/Patentes Gobierno / Política education policy, voting, elections
The term is used in an education article that discusses the ballot issues that have taken place to take different decisions related to education.

It is used in exactly the same sense it is used here:

" Vote on the Ballot Issues!
There aren’t many ballot issues this year. On the state level one reason may be that state issues haven’t had much success in recent years – perhaps due to voter fatigue."

I have seen ballot around translated as "balota", but this would most definitely not work in Spain Spanish.

Any tips or suggestions, please?

Thanks!

Discussion

more info on the context In the article they are then referred to as "initiatives, propositions or questions", so "issue" here wouldn't be understood in the sense of "tema" or "problema" (maybe). Thanks again everyone.

plebiscito/referendum/consulta popular

I think the terms "ballot issue," "ballot initiative" "ballot measure" and "ballot question" all refer to the same the thing, i.e., referenda/plebiscites.

Ballot issue refers to a proposal submitted to the people at an election for their approval or rejection. It includes initiatives, referenda, proposed constitutional amendments, recall questions, school levy questions, bond issue questions, or a ballot question.

plebiscite
