: technically, of course, but in many cases we get calls from the bank saying "no le autorizan el pago del cheque porque la fecha está mal escrita" for example... in this context that's what I would use...

Aca va la definicion para que le encuentres una buena definicion en español a ver si acostumbramos a la gente de sistemas a no usar tèrminos en inglès.

Aca va la definicion para que le encuentres una buena definicion en español a ver si acostumbramos a la gente de sistemas a no usar tèrminos en inglès.

Fíjense que en este caso son dos palabras, fail over, y no una sola, failover, asi que se trata de una discusión sobrela falla o fallas en el servidor. En esp. usan fallo que al menos en mx. se reserva para el lenguaje de los abogados (¿jurídico?)

manejo/desvío de fallas
Se refiere a la capacidad de los sistemas de poder derivar la funcionalidad a otra computadora cuando fallan. Puedes dejar en término inglés, que se utiliza mucho, o bien traducirlo de este modo.
