: se trata de incorporar restos de plantas (1º y 2º caso) o sedimento (3º caso) en la tierra arando o roturándola para que la parte en la superficie baje

Este acepción la encontré en el Dicc. Bilingüe de términos de interés para las Ciencias Agropecuarias, Animales y Veterinarias de Pérez de Pereyra y Aguilar de Espinosa de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (Argentina). Habla específicamente del maíz, pero por lo que veo se adapta al contexto tuyo de los residuos de las plantas muertas. Espero que te sirva.

Una operación de labranza de la tierra es voltearla, esto se logra con arado. Por ejemplo, a veces se siembra leguminosas y luego de germinadas se las voltea, para abonar el suelo con el nitrógeno del aire que las leguminosas fijan en su estructura. En mi criterio arar también vale, pero es más general, pues se ara para formar surcos, para voltear la tierra, para roturarla.
