Hi, everybody.
I started off a quite long translation in Trados 7.
Halfway through, the client sends me a TM that includes the translation of many of the segments I have already translated, and the client wants me to review my work comparing it to the provided TM and leaving some of my segments as they are but also changing a few others to the ones in the TM.

My question is: how can I "tell" Trados, "Let's review the file from the beginning, but please show me matches other than the segments I have produced myself"?
Because when I open a segment in the beginning of the file, the only match I get is the 100% exact match in the TM dated a few days ago.

I hope I was clear enough, it's kind of tough to explain

Thanks for any help.
Regards and have a nice weekend,
Mara

Set penalties May 1, 2010

in Project Settings, you can set a penalty for each TM. 5% penalty implies that a full match will be shown as a 95% match. If you set a penalty, e.g. 1% or 5% for your existing TMs and no penalty for the new TM, then you can step through segment by segment and for each segment see whether there is a 100% match in the new TM you received.

Don't have adequate options in Project Settings :( May 1, 2010

I checked the manual to learn how to do what you are suggesting, but my Settings menu looks different than the one in the manual, and I can't activate the penalty for each TM.
I'm not sure what it could be...
Thanks a lot for your suggestions, though, kimjasper, it sounds just like what I needed.

Try this from the menu May 2, 2010

Try this from the menu:
Project > Settings
Then select this from the left pane in the window which opens:
Language Pairs > All language pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation
There should be a Penalty column where you can change the penalty from 0 which is the default value.

This will introduce client’s TM 100% matches in your file… May 2, 2010

I think you should make a copy of your translated file, just in case…

Then open the client’s TM in Workbench, select Tools/Translate, „Add” your file, choose 100% or higher match value, check the „Update document” radiobutton and „Don’t” (translate terms) then click on „Translate”. In your file the 100% matches will be updated, according to the client's TM.
