Not feeling inspired today! Not sure of the meaning of 'salió' here. Help would be appreciated.

Discussion

Charles Davis Apr 4, 2013:
I've been puzzling over this one. What could they mean by "salir del esplendor"? I wonder, first, whether there is an allusion here to a Spanish version of the Transitus Mariae (though I've haven't been able to find an English version of this exact text):
"Bendito sea el Señor, que ha enviado a su Hijo, que lo ha hecho salir del esplendor de la luz"

The other point, following on from that, is that I wonder if it might allude to the brilliance of the older Spanish pianists who paved the way for members of the generation of 85: Alicia de Larrocha herself, also Joaquín Achúcarro, and (the greatest of them all, in my opinion) Rafael Orozco.

Selected

This group of talented musicians burst onto the scene and made an immediate impact.

The intended sense here seems to be that the emergence of this group of talented musicians had an electrifying effect on the contemporary classical music scene in Spain.

I don't see where anything resembling a literal translation works here.

Suerte.

Addendum:

The other important idea here is that this group comprised especially brilliant musicians who all emerged at the same time.
