This is the only possible meaning that I can see. I'm guessing that "dietas" may have been intended to have something to do with "per diem."

Having said that, I'm pretty sure that in this case it's what Muriel and I have posted. If the person is recovering in hospital, maybe it just means that their treatment expenses are covered, but that's impossible to tell from the little context we have.
