'pared hueca' was asked in a previous posting but I'm not convinced that the options given are correct for this context. Any help appreciated!

El calibre se introduce en la parte hueca de la base o de la toma móvil, en donde queda inmovilizado por apriete del tornillo de bloqueo C que empuja las tres espigas B contra la ***pared hueca***; estas espigas están igualmente repartidas alrededor del cuerpo del calibre. Si las puntas F de las palancas no se apoyan contra la parte de los contactos de tierrra que tocan los contactos de una clavija normal, la posición del calibre se corrige por medio de los separadores indicados.

Hi all, Sorry to close this without grading. It was a mistake in the original and I went with "against the wall of the hollow part" as they are referring to a socket and not actually a wall. Thanks a lot for your time and help.

@ Mediatrix I have now checked this with the client (no drawing available though) and you are correct in saying it's a mistake. It should read "..contra la pared de la parte hueca", which makes a lot more sense to me! So I'll probably go with "..against the wall of the hollow part". Ta!

Typo? 'pared hueca' makes little or no sense here (although it might make sense if we could see the drawing).

Is it possible that there's a typo, and that 'pared hueca' should read 'parTE hueca', as in the first line in the quote?
