A scheme of arrangement is a court-approved agreement between a company and its equity or debt holders.
Schemes of arrangement are used to execute arbitrary changes in the structure of a business and thus are used when a reorganization cannot be achieved by other means. They may be used for rescheduling debt, for takeovers, and for returns of capital, among other purposes.

Creo que esta referencia, referida al ámbito de seguros y reaseguros, te puede ser útil:
Scheme of Arrangement: En el Reino Unido, alternativa a la liquidación obligatoria. Es un compromiso o concordato entre la compañía y sus acreedores para llevar a cabo el run-off de los pasivos de la primera. Se trata de un equivalente funcional del Plan de Reorganización por Quiebra bajo Capítulo 11 (EE.UU.). Para ser definitivo y obligatorio para las partes, el Scheme of Arrangement debe ser aprobado por el 75% de los acreedores con derecho a voto, y ordenado por un tribunal inglés.
