I print each invoice out and put it in a pile (oldest invoices on top).

When the invoice is paid, I write "PAID" at the top and put it into another pile.

At the end of the year I separate the paid file by company and add up the total amount received from each company. When the tax forms come in, I compare the amount on each form to the amount on my list for that company.

Total time spent on invoicing per year = less than thirty minutes

I mean, it also depends on the tax system of the country, what you do is really difficult in Spain 8where I live now, and impossible in Italy where I lived before.

Invoicing and accounting by myself

Technical (fiscal) stuff: accountant

I use the Proz invoice tool for invoicing, Aug 10, 2014

do the quarterly VAT reports myself, and have an accountant do the annual tax report.

The Proz invoicing tool provides reports on:

- Financial overview (a quick summary of invoice and payment activity for the year.)
- Sales by client (amounts invoiced to each client in a calendar format.)
- Invoice aging (overdue balances by client and number of days late.)
- Time to pay (how timely clients tend to be with their payments.)
- Payments received
