This is a bit of a late post, but I wonder whether any of you have noticed our peer Andrew Read http://www.proz.com/pro/49439 on the University Challenge Manchester team, who have been putting up some great scores, beating a Cambridge college with ease yesterday?

This is a bit of a late post, but I wonder whether any of you have noticed our peer Andrew Read http://www.proz.com/pro/49439 on the University Challenge Manchester team, who have been putting up some great scores, beating a Cambridge college with ease yesterday?

They are now through to the semi-final, which will be held on Monday Feb 18 and will be facing Christ Church Oxford which could be a bit dodgy statistically, as Christ Church is one of Oxford's largest.

It gives me a great buzz to see someone introducing themselves with the words "and I am reading for a doctorate in translation studies", as it also does to see a peer getting so many answers right.

Tune in and donate some spiritual support!

BBC 2 at 20:00, right after the other programme on ITV that has made Manchester famous.
