Don't know, don't care... Oct 9, 2025

...and I don't think there are going to be all that many useful answers. So now, even the occasional non-AI poll is weird.

?
(This is a question for a forum thread, not for a poll. Strange that it passed vetting by the staff.)

What vetting Oct 9, 2025

What vetting? What staff?

Because they are US agency subcontractors or their assistant or similar. Or a US company outsourced this recruitment work to them, because their work is cheaper than what recruiters in the US charge.

Why would we care if it doesn’t apply to us?

Preliminary question Oct 10, 2025

Why would anyone in need of a translator or interpreter that must be based in USA use at all the services of an agency based outside of USA?

As much I can keep scratching my head, I can't find any explanations that could even charitably be labelled as 'positive' ...

Whenever I see an agency not from Serbia looking for translators not into/from any of their local languages it does not smell of roses to me.

Maybe taxes? Oct 10, 2025

Could it be that if the applicant works remotely from the USA, the Asia/Mid-East LSPs save on paying working taxes in their location?
