I have a cute little detached home surrounded by tall mature trees. Inside the house is a room dedicated to my office. It's lined with shelves where I still keep my hardbound dictionaries, style manuals, and other references. | | | DZiW (X) Ucrania inglés al ruso + ...
I own a cottage with a special study room in the suburbs and my apartment with a reading room, let alone a private office at downtown. Moreover, I can work in any room whenever I need or want to) | | | neilmac España Local time: 07:09 español al inglés + ...
I don't own my home. I rent a villa all year round and my main office space is in the corner of the open plan living room-kitchen. Most of the time I live here on my own, so there should be no major interruptions or distractions. There is a also a fully equipped backup PC setup in the spare room, which most of the time simply functions as a radio in the background, although I did a couple of things on it last week.

I don't own my home. I rent an apartment in the center of Lisbon and I have a very calm and quiet office with everything I need to work. My apartment has a nice veranda at the front and sometimes I take my laptop and work there… | | | Ricki Farn Alemania Local time: 07:09 inglés al alemán
Yes, both, but on two different corners of the same street
I'm a total introvert, I need to be alone apart from my backyard critters. At the moment, I have a titmouse, which when translated to German just happens to mean "I have bats in the belfry": "ich habe eine Meise" - the idiom is singular, but I have several, and they are preparing to hatch even more, so I'm not sure how crazy that makes me in total. I'm just perched at the bar in our kitchen/living room. Everybody keeps telling me I should convert one of our empty bedrooms into an office, but I would feel shut away. I have a desktop in the basement which is my safe place when I need peace and quiet. Other than that I much prefer to be in the kitchen, where I can see everyone coming and going. I have been thinking of creating an office space in the living room but somehow I balk at the permanence of it. i like the idea of being able to just grab my laptop, throw some clothes and a toothbrush in a bag and off I go, even if I have yet to do that. ▲ Collapse | | | All Over The Place | Feb 25, 2019 |
At home, I have a desktop in my kitchen area, in front of windows that stretch all the way from the ceiling down to the floor, but I sometimes work on one of my laptops in my study.

I have a studio in my apartment. When I visit my mother, I work in the hall. Yes, that's essential for a good performance.

I also use my family kitchen (warm and cozy) during chilly school mornings when the house is quiet anyway. Late afternoon the sun comes streaming through the glass doors of my southern facing “real” office, so if I haven’t finished my work till then, I complete it downstairs. It’s a nice combination. | | | Mario Freitas Brasil Local time: 03:09 Miembro 2014 inglés al portugués + ...
My apartment is rented and it's where I work, too.
I always think a lot if it's worth it to buy a house. It would certainly be good when I get old, but most experts say a house it not a real asset, as it consumes a lot more money than its increased value in time.
The only reason why I do wish to have my onw house is so I can design it and build it the way I want to. I might do that one day.
