Among an impressive array of topics set out in Jared's report, I found the UNESCO training activity of particular interest and I shall follow up the link to this first of all.
Through Jared himself, and the evidence of the hard work entailed in compiling the report among other duties, I should like to say thank you to the team that "tins the wires" for us all at Syracuse and elsewhere.
With kind regards and best wishes,

However, when I looked at the map of certified pro members I realized that I was not represented at all (in New Brunswick). Could it be that the map is not complete yet?
Please, let me know.

The Certified PRO Network world map shows membership in the network by country, Ingeborg, and not by state, province, region or city. If you visit the map and click the "P" icon on Canada you will be given a link to see the list of Certified PROs in Canada, including you.
Hope this explains.

Thank you to everyone who has posted feedback here or replied to the email on the report so far!
Andrei, to answer your question about the translation contests, that is something I would have liked to be able to include in this report! It is hoped that at least one contest can be kicked off between now and year's-end, most definitely with a source text in English and hopefully with source texts where site staff are native speakers. Andrei, to answer your question about the translation contests, that is something I would have liked to be able to include in this report! It is hoped that at least one contest can be kicked off between now and year's-end, most definitely with a source text in English and hopefully with source texts where site staff are native speakers. I will keep you informed!
One issue with translation contests is finding suitable source texts, and finding them in as many languages as possible, to open up the opportunities to participate to everyone. A feature that allows members to propose potential source texts in their native language for contests was created, but unfortunately has not been widely used to date. Source texts can be proposed here: http://www.proz.com/translation-contests/propose_source_text
If you come across a text you think may be suitable, please submit it, and spread the word to colleagues you think may be able to help. I'll post back here (as well as making the announcement) when the next contest is set to go.
Thanks! ▲ Collapse | | |

Hello Paz,
It looks like the map, powered by Google maps, may not be working properly in browsers which are not Chrome. Please give it a try at searching for PROs in the map with Google Chrome. In the meantime, I will try to contact Google support for more information on their recent updates to maps and see how this issue can be fixed. I also added a note to the ProZ.com Certified PRO Network world map page.
Thanks for the heads-up!
