: "Diminution' is a valid musical term. My Concise Oxford Dictionary of Music says 'diminution = shortening of the time-values of the notes of melodic parts; opposite of Augmentation'

Division (or Diminution) and ornamentation
Disminución can be diminution or division. Division is the term I have come across more often in my own musical experience.
