La carrera del vástago usually refers to the stroke of a cylinder. A cylinder is measure by it's stroke, sometimes called "el recorrido" as well, and the bore or "el diámetro". I worked for a year quoting cylinders in international sales for Bridgestone Firestone Venezuela and la carrera del vástago always refers to the stroke of a cylinder.
