I am translating a document on structural engineering and I found these two types of structures:

Senior structural engineering staff also regularly participates in, and leads the periodic revision of seismic and other design provisions of national codes for building and non-building structures.

I understand that a building structure is a structure used for continuous occupancy like apartments while a non-building structure is not designed for continuous human occupancy like bridges, etc. Could I translate this as "edificios y estructuras"?
Any suggestion please?
