An issue about a payment from an agency Autor de la hebra: Branka Ramadanovic

Dear fellow translators,
I have an issue with an outstanding payment with an agency from Greece. I will not name them here, but I will certainly rate them with 1 on BB soon unless they pay tomorrow, as they have promised. They owe me a large amount which was due last month. I am concerned and willing to post them as non-payers unless they pay soon. I would appreciate it if you can please tell me what are all the other non-payer lists where I can post their name, in addition to the Blue Board here, so that other translators do not get into the same problem. Of course, unless they pay.
Thanks in advance,

As far as I know, there is no such list - you must mean a kind of blacklist. That seems like a good idea, in order to become or remain blacklisted in that list, we could impose a minimum number of reports over a certain period of time as a requirement.

What seems to me to be the best is a system of compulsory payment-advances (to which all translators adhere, so no scabs who still do work in exchange for promises of payment), a basic insurance-system on which translators can fall back upon through a membership/premium, and also a system of litigation support. What the latter should look like, I do not know myself, but it can be developed to the desired result. Maybe it consists of advice, discounts on lawyers, and more of all that good stuff.
Thus it will eliminate the fraudsters. There is a global crisis, and then you see many people eagerly abuse the system. Not only our profession by the way, but we need to stand in solidarity and secure our common interests secure by consolidating.
I also mentioned the above in another topic, I want to spread this message as much as possible, so that everyone becomes aware of the dangers and possible solutions. ▲ Collapse | | | Samuel Murray Países Bajos Local time: 14:04 Miembro 2006 inglés al afrikaans + ...

You should post a negative review on them regardless of whether they pay.
I'm not sure if forum rules allow us to post details of other blacklists, but here are two of them:

Blacklists that simply blacklist a client without any further comment or information aren't useful to translators, because different translators accept different levels of risk in their businesses. It is more useful for translators to read about others' experiences of agencies, in my opinion. | |

Where did you see in my reaction that the blacklist should contain no further comments or information? | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » An issue about a payment from an agency CafeTran Espresso | You've never met a CAT tool this clever!
