Never even had the slightest twinge! It may be just luck, but I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that I'm left-handed but use my right hand for the mouse, and both hands to type - so the load is spread more evenly over my hands. | | | Clara Duarte Portugal Local time: 09:39 inglés al portugués + ... Or maybe not, if I start using voice recognition and learn how to sit and move my hands without straining my muscles and tendons. I have a problem with my neck and lower back, though. | | | Chun Un Macao Miembro 2007 inglés al chino + ... I'm glad the poll helped... | Jun 18, 2007 |

For anyone who's curious, I chose "No but I feel I will" in the poll. I first heard about CTS quite a few years ago but never experienced it until recently. For my full time job and freelancing, I use mouse a lot and type a lot sometimes as well. At the end of my working day these days, my wrist (right) has this strange tingling feeling and my small finger is a bit numb... And I think I know exactly what's happening.
This prompted me to find out how many people using ProZ.com have suffered or are suffering from CTS... It's been great seeing all these posts in the forum. Thank you all.

I just want to thank Chun Un for giving me this free diagnosis.
I began to suffer from this illness many months ago, and the closest I could get to diagnosing it was that it is a form of repetitive strain ( I even knew that from another poll).
The problem with me is not just feeling the pain while on the job, I feel it 24-7. It causes me insomnia. I struggle every night to sleep while feeling this pain in my wrist (especially the right wrist). I tried some tips about correct hand positions on the key board, and it got a little better. But it is still a big problem for me.
Anyway, after I've seen your poll, I "google-wiki'ed" the term and found that it matches with my symptoms. I just printed the English wiki page about it, hoping it can give me tips on how to eliminate it.
Thanks also to the colleagues who shared their experiences with this syndrome, and their ways of treating it. ▲ Collapse | | | I solved the problem... | Jun 18, 2007 |
...as another colleague said, when I started using Dragon Naturally Speaking, since my wrists and hands were often aching. I saw immediately an improvement! I am sorry I didn't start using this wonderful program before!
