My desktop is about 18 months and the old laptop, which is being formatted, is just 2 years old. | | | Michael Harris Alemania Local time: 06:57 Miembro 2006 alemán al inglés Everything new | Dec 21, 2009 |

I get a new computer each year, as I use it for EVERYTHING. I work on it about 10 hours per day seven days per week, I do all admin on it, watch films on it (instead of a DVD-player, or buy streaming films), I watch TV-programs on it and do my work out following downloaded programs... As the computer is on so much of the time it starts to feel a bit old when it is a year old. Hi Maria,
I'm a bit surprised by your assessment, because I do about the same as you with my computer (I even often let it on when I'm not home during the day), but it is going to be 5 years old in a few months and I'm very happy with it. To be honest, it started to get slower over the last couple of months and I was planning to buy a new one next year. Then it "crashed" a couple of weeks ago (I write "crash" in brackets cause it was not a very serious crash), I brought it to a PC shop, the guys fixed it and replaced 1 part (I don't even know which one), that costed me 50 euros and now it works perfectly fine like some years back. No I wonder if I really need to buy a new one next year...
Maybe you don't buy quality PCs? It is true that mine costed me 1000 euros (without software) when I bought it, which is not exactly the cheapest on the market, but I had it assembled according to my needs, with the best components on the market at that time. | | | Sebastian Witte Alemania Local time: 06:57 Miembro 2004 inglés al alemán + ... My Athlon 64 3000 has been running smoothly for all these years, but has slowed down way too much plus the hard drive is lacking space. My laptop crashed when attempted to defragment the hard disk, before two years of use. I had it repaired, but I do not trust it anymore (it is a Gateway). Also, Gateway service has gone from excellent to totally useless. | | |
Hi Aguas,
I don't mind sharing the brand, but my computer has no brand. As I said, it is not a ready-to-use computer like you can buy in the supermarket, I had it assembled in a computer shop. I can just tell you that my processor is an Intel Pentium 4, my audio card a Soundmax, my CD/DVD reader a Sony, etc. | | | Jeff Allen Francia Local time: 06:57 múltiples idiomas + ... several platforms of different ages | Mar 17, 2010 |
As I mentioned in another poll reply, I work with different platforms (desktop computer, laptop computer, Pocket PC and blackberry).
They have a range of ages (2002- pocket PC, 2007 or maybe 2008 for the desktop, 2008 for laptop, and just a few months old for the blackberry) | | | Páginas sobre el tema: < [1 2] | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: How old is your current working computer?
