Well, this is my last day as a freelancer, so this is just a little note to say thanks to everybody here on Proz for the hours of help, encouragement, reading and indeed, entertainment over the years.
I'm staying in the industry, but in a different capacity. I'll still pop in here from time to time.

Good luck, Orla! I'm considering making a similar jump from 2008. The bit that scares me most is having to wear proper office clothes every day... and getting my hair to look respectable...
and not being able to snack every other minute...
and not being able to doze off for half an hour in the late morning...

Didn't mean to make you nervous of course, I'm sure you'll be just fine

A big factor for me wanting to move from teleworking is the fact that I must have put on at least 2 stone working at home and (yes, this is going to sound very shallow!) this company is affiliated with one of Dublin's top gyms, so I'd get an employee discount. | | | Orla Ryan Irlanda Local time: 01:04 PERSONA QUE INICIÓ LA HEBRA

I also work in office in a company
Also see the other side of the coin: you have people around you, and sometimes a joke or some nice words are just what you need to go on!
All the best to you!

I hope this new endeavour brings you happiness and fulfilment.
I'll tell you a little secret about what I don't miss about office work, a tidbit I shared with the customs officer at the US-Canada border. She asked me what I did for a living and I told her I was a freelance translator - strange look - how's that job, she asked? How's the money? I said the money's not bad, especially when you factor in bus or train fare, coffees at $2 or $3 a pop... makeup, and pantyhose! $$$$$ ...
