Jealous Sep 19, 2007

I am jealous of you guys. I can see a small creepy back garden which is nothing except concrete from my window. So, now I know why I try to escape from translation, because I don’t have a good view from my window.

Hello Özden!

You caught me out! That photo was taken at Marqueyssac gardens, only a stone's throw from my humble abode in the Southwest.

Here is my real garden, seen in the springtime (I had a few rotty old potted plants hanging about, which proves that this is the real thing):

I did enjoy the photos, I'll post my own later today. Just a very modest backyard and an even smaller front garden, but they're good enough for me.

I cannot read Russian, so I'm wondering: what's with the geese?
Loved the pictures of snowy landscapes and the birds and the squirrel. Thanks for sharing!

Best,
Margreet

Geese in the Russian thread Sep 21, 2007

Hi Margreet,

Those pics have been posted by Mark, our colleague who lives in Canada. He observed how that nice family was crossing the street not far away from his house and the traffic stopped giving way to the birds.

Uh, Gianni... Sep 22, 2007

you'll never believe this, but I thought hundreds of times about posting this same topic, but never really decided to!!!

Unfortunately, I don't have pics ready to upload at the moment. From my home office of my previous house, I could see fields and vegetable gardens and, in the background, the striking view of the huge, white Sacrario di Redipuglia (an enormous war cemetery which looks like a giant staircase). Now, I can see fields and vegetable gardens again and I can smell the salty air coming from the sea (some hundreds metres away...).

Street in Edinburgh Sep 26, 2007

I love all your pictures. My dream is to have a garden some day, when I live in a house.

For the time being, I see my street from my office. So the flats in front and the church, with a woman vicar (wonder if she comes from Dibley).

Once, I heard a kid on the street, I looked down and that litte boy (5-6 years old) was wearing the cutest little kilt ever. Just wonderful!

Please notice the bright blue cloudless sky, in Edinburgh on Sept. 26!...
