You are the worst!!!! Oct 15, 2008

Álvaro,

I tried so hard to resist your "favorite scenes" thread! But I can't resist this...

Yes, "The Mission", what a wonderful movie, specially with us at home being such Jesuit fans. And the music is amazing.

Here is the tango "Por una cabeza" in Scent of a Woman, with Al Pacino.

Woody Allen puts amazing themes in all his movies, I'll try to find some.

Thank you!!!!

Mixes Oct 15, 2008

Hola Álvaro

Time for my procrastination/fun break.... As Lucía commented, this is too tempting.

I am definitely a movie soundtrack addict (oh no, another hobby addiction!), because I got all these CDs from various movies, so what I like to do is to mix them in my own way.

I do tend to like French instrumental soundtrack music composers a lot: for example, Yann Tiersen, who composed the soundtrack of a more recent movie, Amélie, or Michel Legrand (older French movies).

Saludos,

Ivette

Indian rap Oct 15, 2008

This is kind of obscure, but I loved the music from the film "Outsourced," especially the Indian rap music by the Danish-Indian duo Bombay Rockers.

There are tons of others I love, but can't think of them at the moment.

Vangelis - Blade Runner,

Good excuse to listen to them right now!

Like Lucia, I tried to resist on the previous movie thread, but I can't pass on this one.
I have a couple of favorite soundtracks: Forrest Gump and The Wizard of Oz (the Original one with Judy Garland). In the former, I love the songs related to the different times lived by FG (the 60ies, 70ies and of course the most famous song where the feather is flying, and the final theme after Jenny dies....I always tear up...).

The Wizard of Oz has been in my life since I was a kid, it's my favorite tale and one of my fave movies, I love everything in it. My favourite song apart from the beautiful "Over the Rainbow" (that always gives me goose bumps, it's a timeless song) is "We're off to see the Wizard" (...the wonderful Wizard of OOOOOz, because, because, because, becaaaaaaaaaaaause, because of the wonderful things he does!).
