I work straight through the year. I used to take vacations when my children were still at home, but they are long gone and we haven’t spent vacations together for some time (trying to get 14 people agreeing on the same date and place is an almost impossible task…). I used to enjoy having one or two days off here and there between jobs, but now that work has been either scarce or very irregular these days ‘off’ make me more anxious than anything else. True vacation Jun 29

To me, a true vacation is one where I find myself in a different, interesting place -- not one in which I have induced a certain kind of boredom. I have no difficulty working 5 hours a day while on a true vacation.
