When far more vote "Other" than any other option, there is something wrong with the options. In this case I think most of them would have voted "None" if they could.

I voted 2, but it varies quite a lot.

I have a main catch-all TM for each target language, which I may set these days NOT to catch any more from a particular job. Then I have special subject TMs, and attach those as relevant. And then, of course, there are client TMs in many cases, although they may be empty when I start the job.

None of my TMs are provided by clients, but I use several of my own. I don't know exactly how many.
I have at least one per client, and I also have some for specific knowledge areas. For example, for one market research client, I have one specific TM for their general written texts, another for surveys and another for verbatim interviews.

Under the heading of Education, I have at least 4 or 5 for different specific knowledge areas.
Under the heading Bio-Science, which mainly concerns animal husbandry, I have specific TMs for each type of livestock, so at least four or five there.

I have no idea how other people organise their TMs, and I don't really care. My "system" (or lack thereof) works for me...

Absolutely agree!
Even though I have few TMs since I'm at the beginning, none of my clients have ever provided or sent me TMs, not so far at least.
Indeed, I use those I created by myself.

I work in two language pairs, so I have one TM for each pair.
I regularly import these TMs to the other pair, inverting the languages, of course. So that makes it four.
And I have one extra TM, because a regular client required their own TM years ago, and I still have to use it. One day, I'll add it to the main one, and I shall have only two for each pair, as expected (the regular one and the inverted one).

I used to have 2 local TMs: one for each language pair I work on. But they became huge files and backing up them regularly was almost impossible (several minutes).

To solve that problem, I created one local TM per language pair and per client (translation companies and other end clients I work with directly). Several smaller files are not the same than a really huge one. In addition, I realized it's better for consistency, since each client has different terminology, style, field, e

In addition, I realized it's better for consistency, since each client has different terminology, style, field, etc. Then I started to have a different TM for each major regular project (usually more than one per translation company).

Well... right now, I have just 67 TM files, but this number is increasing
