Not as far as I can remember. I have been asked, once or twice, to translate a text which I had translated for a different client.

Other (even more bizarre...) May 25, 2018

Once I was asked by a clearly inexperienced PM if I could edit my own translation because she couldn’t find an available editor, I told her that I would put her in contact with my own proofreader…

However I am lately being given the same exact test from different translation companies.

Nope, but once I've been asked to profread a text that I translated for the same agency (profreading was prepaid). They then noticed it was me who had translated it and forwarded it to another person.

3 times so far. Ones from the same agency I did the translation for. They received the proofreading task from another client.

and what was worse, it was via an automated thing. The software developer had not thought to eliminate the translator from the pool for the editing stage! I had a good laugh at that, and notified the client, thinking that not all translators would be as scrupulous, especially if they were desperate for work!

No, but ... May 26, 2018

I've translated a number of documents and meeting resolutions that are widely quoted, and on rare occasions I've had quotations from these texts show up in other documents that I'm translating.

But if I did, I'm sure I'd change several things.
