Invoices are either sent together with the translation (mainly new clients or one-offs) or at the end of the month (regular customers). I always reserve the morning of the last day of the month for invoicing, but each invoice is prepared immediately after completing a job so that nothing is forgotten.

Sometimes I forget to bill the odd client until later... For example, the only agency I currently work with sent me a small job last week, and when I checked it turned out I'd done three things for them since September, which I'd forgotten to bill them for at the end of the year. So I billed them for all four last week and this morning received confirmation that the invoice had been received and approved. They'll pay by the end of this month.

However, I usually bill my regular clients either monthly, quarterly or at the end of a project... It's really just the little ones that tend to slip through the net occasionally. ▲ Collapse | | | Kay Denney Francia Local time: 08:37 francés al inglés
surely I'm not the only one who can't choose between "not very" and "I need someone to do that for me"?

Invoicing isn't the time to get ineffecient! | Feb 5, 2018 |
Like Teresa, I invoice on the last working day of the month unless the client has specifically requested an immediate invoice. I have an Excel spreadsheet with all the information on, so I just transfer that across to my Excel invoice template, save it as a PDF and send it off. I couldn't possibly send an invoice for every job (without raising my rates) as some of them run to two pages - I think 28 separate small jobs in a month for a single client is the current record! But I only tend to invoice 4-10 clients each month so preparing one for each per month isn't a great chore. I check the client's payment terms, but normally, I too send of a batch of invoices at the end of the month.
Some request invoices on specific days, so I comply. If they say that take more than 30 days after the invoice date, then I send the invoice immediately after delivering the job.

When I started my first job in Denmark as an employee, I was informed: you have two important duties. To take your coffee breaks and collect your pay! What's the point of going to work otherwise? ▲ Collapse
My invoices are sent at the end of the month/beginning of the following month in accordance with the agreements with the regular clients.
Small jobs for "irregular" clients are invoiced when there is an amount worth an invoice.
And I not so much need as would LOOOVE to have someone to take care of that for me!
