What date is it Sep 4, 2016

today? Oh, the 4th September. How on earth can we answer such a useless question? No wonder that you are anonymous in this case!!

Other (no idea!) Sep 4, 2016

The month has just started, but if a big project I quoted for last month materializes as I expect it will be a very good month…

Slightly above average Sep 4, 2016

With respect to my overall average (about 10 years of data), the average for September is about 10% higher. It's my 4th best month of the year.

Who cares? Sep 4, 2016

I really don't know what can be learned from this poll.

Or, is someone trying to find out if we are seasonal workers?

Wake me up when spring comes, someone.

P.S.
I did answer "No" since I have a lot of 'expected' work to come in - but one doesn't know from one day, week or month to the next, does one?

According to conventional wisdom, Sep 4, 2016

September is generally a slow month for many industries. I have no idea if this is actually true but I hear it a lot.

That said, August was a great month for me as far as translation work, and the first few days of September were no different.

For those of us without backup revenue Sep 4, 2016

like a healthy retirement pension or income from other sources, it's always hard to predict what a month will be like. At the end of the month, it's always easy to tell. And that goes for all 12 months, September included.

No pattern for no month Sep 5, 2016

I don't think there is a pattern for any month or period of the year. I thought December would be slower due to the feasts, and July may be slower due to summer, and maybe January and February could be slower due to vacations and carnival in Brazil. However, my worst two months in the past two years were both in April. Coincidence? I never had to take money off my savings in any of the months supposed to be "bad" or "slow", only twice in April. I wonder why.
