Like most Mac users, I LOVE my Mac!!! It is totally reliable.
My non-Mac laptop needs ANOTHER repair, so I am managing with my less-than-a month-old MSI Wind netbook.
I have had a very busy term with my salaried post, so haven't done much translation work recently

I just got a new one 6 months ago. The 2 previous ones (desktop and laptop) were over 5 years old - more than I thought: I usually buy a new one every 2 or 3 years but the old computers are always recycled (private use, friends, spare parts, etc.)

9 months old, after my old one (6 years and upgraded a couple of years later) became too wobbly to trust.

Less than a year, about five months to be precise. Old one was four years old, getting slow and making me nervous!

My computer is 4 years old and my laptop is 3 years old. The laptop is still running fabulously though my computer tends to slow down after being on for about 7 hours...I am on a cleanup and delete mission lately but I won't give it much more than another year if the problem persists.

I switched to Mac at the end of 2007 after many, many years of using (and struggling with) a variety of PCs, always having to have repairs, dealing with crashes, viruses, etc. I finally got fed up and bought a MacBook. I love my MacBook and will never go back to PCs. It's going strong after two years and I expect to keep it for a lot longer.

My 6-year-old desktop (nearly everything had been upgraded, so it was a bit like George Washington's axe) was finally starting to struggle to run the modern software I wanted to use, so I bought a Lenovo ThinkCentre tower six months ago, keeping all my peripherals and monitors. I'm very pleased with it.
My Thinkpad T60 laptop is getting on for 3 years old now and runs just fine, especially since I defragmented the hard drive last week.

got a new laptop in june. THe old one was getting slow and I really needed something new. I'd saved up the money and found a good deal. I love it!

I'm still waiting for the few last components for my new PC to arrive via mail. My last computer, which I purchased back in 2003, blew up a few months ago... again.

I get a new computer each year, as I use it for EVERYTHING. I work on it about 10 hours per day seven days per week, I do all admin on it, watch films on it (instead of a DVD-player, or buy streaming films), I watch TV-programs on it and do my work out following downloaded programs... As the computer is on so much of the time it starts to feel a bit old when it is a year old.
I always keep the second oldest one to use in case there is some temporary technical problem with my comput... See more I get a new computer each year, as I use it for EVERYTHING.
