Poll: How did you find ProZ.com? Autor de la hebra: ProZ.com Staff

Interesting poll!
It was in 2001 or 2002, I was trying to find a term, I probably used Google, and I ended up in the KudoZ section. I thought it was the best thing ever

Well, yes, it is interesting, but I think it's the third time we've had it!

I can't remember when and how I registered with Proz - sometime in 2001-2002 probably - and then completely forgot about it.
But it was in 2004 that a colleague who's also a relative of mine told me about a great place called Kudoz, without giving too many details. I decided to check it out, and the rest is history.

How did you find proz.com | Jul 22, 2008 |
Like Christian I was also told about www.proz.com through Dr. Carol O'Sullivan, Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth. It was at the start of our course in Translation Studies. In Autumn 2007 she gave us a booklet listing various resources for translators and proz.com was one of them.

Back in about 1999 I received an invitation from Proz.com to join. Apparently Proz had been surfing the Net and found me registered on another translation site. I did join, but for close to 6 months I was rather busy so I did not pay much attention to the messages that would come in on questions being asked. Then one day I was not so busy, so I decided to see what I could do.
As you can see, I got hooked.
Another Translator | Jul 22, 2008 |
Back in 2002 or 2003, I ran an ad in Greenwich Village's newspaper, the Village Voice, stating that I was looking for literary translation projects. I thought it might be a good venue from which to find projects since I found out about a project I did for Macmillan through the paper, way back in 1980.
Another translator in the New York City area called me when he saw my ad and told me about proz, and it has been a big help to my translator career, since I returned to the field in 20... Since then, I am active on several other translator websites, in a variety of ways.
