You could get away with "the Gods/gods", although that isn't quite what the original says.

I think this is a decision you have to make, based on the brief and the amount of leeway you've been given.
For what it's worth, my opinion is that since the play is presumably intended for performance, it must be instantly understandable to the audience, and you would be justified in putting "gods". Alternatively, you could add "of ancient Greece" to clarify which heroes you're talking about.
