Hope this is a literary piece. Otherwise, pardon the excess... Suerte, Tulla Doherty.

According to the Diccionário de La Lengua Española de la Real Academia Española, \"emparrado\" refers to either vines or the support structure for climbing plants. Pergola, according to the Webster\'s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary, is \"an arbor formed of horizontal trelliswork supported on columns or posts, over which vines or other plants are trained.\" Therefore, in my opinion, if this is a piece on gardening, the technical terms suggested by other contributors might sound more appropriate. If through the text there are references to vineyards, the term vines may be better. Otherwise, if the type of plant is irrelevant, the \"emparrado\" in the text is referred to as an architectural structure, not located in the countryside, and this is a literary piece, the term pergola would be more suitable. Context, context... Suerte, Tulla Doherty.
