I wonder if PECI is the same in the three sentences, because it doesn't make a lot of sense to that one would write the whole name and the initials between brackets the second time the term appears in the text, instead of the first time and then just the initials.

I have translated both laboratories and Texas University into Spanish. So I think the most coherent would be to do the same with PECI and put the initials inside the brackets, but I haven't found any translation.
