consideración como gasto del ejercicio de un gasto no correlacionado...

español al inglés Jurídico/Patentes Derecho: contrato(s) Contesting an agreement
Hi guys, I wanted to check and see I have the right meaning and if anyone has a good way of phrasing this.

The context is a letter advising a client to contest a legal challenge, and this sentence appears on a list of apparent wrongdoings by the client which have caused the agreement to be changed.

The full phrase is: "consideración como gasto del ejercicio de un gasto no correlacionado con la actividad".

Any suggestions or clarification much appreciated!

charging a non-business item to expenses (for the year)

You could leave out 'for the year'.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Francois Boye : a non-business item? This is not an accounting concept

Of course it is. If I went on vacation and charged it as business travel, that would be fraud.

deeming a non-trading expense to be one of the accounting reference period

Change the word order and use the 'deeming'-type clause or provision terminology from UK, Canadian and Indian etc. taxing statutes.

No need to repeat the word of expense, spending or expenditure.

Ejercicio might be a financial year or a shorter 'stub' period - hence a/c ref. period-
Example sentence:

Deeming rules are typically thought of as creating legal fictions.Though this is the most common use of such provisions in the Act, it is not their only use.

charging a fixed cost to this fiscal year

an expense is a cost in accounting

A cost unrelated to business activity is fixed in cost accounting

What Is a Fixed Cost?

A fixed cost is a cost that does not change with an increase or decrease in the amount of goods or services produced or sold. Fixed costs are expenses that have to be paid by a company, independent of any specific business activities.

In general, companies can have two types of costs, fixed costs or variable costs, which together result in their total costs. Shutdown points tend to be applied to reduce fixed costs.

neutral philgoddard : It doesn't say 'fixed'.//You're misunderstanding "actividad". It means business, not volume of business.

A cost unrelated to business activity is fixed in cost accounting//if X is independent from Y, then whatever the level or variation of Y, X remains unchanged. Logic 101
