Hello to all.

I'm planning the development of a Word VBA macro that would allow me to convert Word tables into XML for importing into MultiTerm iX.

Has anyone here attempted that and is willing to share some tips and tools?

It seems straightforward but it is always better if you can stand on someone elses's shoulders.

Thanks in advance.

Why a macro? why XML? Dec 8, 2004

You can save this table as a Excel file and import it to Multiterm.

More, with Excel you can "create" a complex Multiterm database better than with Multiterm.

Hi Pablo!

It'll be a great tool. I'm willing to help you in any way. I'm not good at XML but I'm learning
First of all, I think a simple find-and-replace macro will do but it all depends on how complex the dictionary is. Please, post an XML export sample of your database structure here to examine it. Maybe Excel is a more appropriate tool.

Keep us posted with the progress of your work.

Pablo,

WordML would be the obvious solution, no?

Hello Marc and thanks fro your reply.

I'm using Office 2000/Windows 2000 and have no plans to upgrade anytime soon. Is this tool adequate for Word 2000?

Thanks in advance.

But at the moment its not very cofigurable, i.e. I edit it manually when I want to change the language direction, English - Polish or vice versa, and it does not take any other language parameters. I'd have to work on it and release it, when it is ready to go public.

Regards,

Piotr
