You recently advertised the fact that translators can have their own web page on ProZ. Please can you tell me how to do this.

Help pls on Setting up a web page - non Platinum Feb 23, 2005

Greetings,

You indicate that we can set up a web page from the main profile page...

I have uploaded 12 files twice today using the php Groupware software accessible from the "Your site" > "Edit your site" link on the Profile page, but the web page does not seem to have loaded.

I receive error message "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded" when I click on Robert Corner's Website.

I'd be grateful for advice on this.

Hi Robert Feb 23, 2005

Your main page MUST be the file named index.html

Have you uploaded it?

uploading web page - still unclear... Feb 25, 2005

I'd still appreciate advice on this. I've apparently uploaded my 12 files but am unable to assess where they are, what they do... The groupware page is rather obscure, I find.

hopefully,

Robert

OK - I get the picture...
if you're not Platinum, the folk behind Proz just aren't interested in offering help. That was one of the things I was wondering about when I posted the request for help with the "not Plantinum" mention. Now I know

It would be more polite to be honest about it, though. I believe that this area of the internet is principally about sharing, not money-making...

Dear Robert Mar 4, 2005

I am not sure what the problem is, but let us try together.

Please go to your profile page

Choose "Edit your site", click on it and provide your username and password as usually. You should see the file manager page now.

Your main page filename MUST be index.html
In case you see it as index.HTM, please check the box to the left of this filename, go to the bottom of the page, click the 'rename' button and rename the file to index.html

I will track this thread from now on so I will know if you post an update.

Best,
Natalia

P.S. Please note that "Robert Corner's ProZ.com site" and "Robert Corner's website" are different things. You are uploading files for your ProZ.com site (NOT your website). Your website may be anywhere; you must simply provide a link to it in your profile (in "Editing personal data" tab). I, for example, have no other webpage except my ProZ.com page, so I provided a link to my profile page and when you click on 'Natalie's website' you are taken to my profile page.
