Hi,
Today my KudroZ answers were cutt off four times leaving only the first word and a bit from the second in the answer box. It really is most annoying plus I would like to sort this out. Has anybody ever had this kind of problem before?
Cheers,
Burrell

I've also seen it in other people's answers (only in Greek though; I haven't seen it in other languages.) ▲ Collapse

It is the "encoding conflict"
Dec 3, 2004
Most often it occurs when the Internet page from which you are copying something has a different encoding than the ProZ.com page where you are pasting it (you yourself may not notice any difference because your browser recognizes both of them).
Another problem: the words in UTF-8 encoding are much longer than in other encodings (e.g. Win1251 for Russia), therefore some answers become "too long" and are cut off. Please compare the word "ðóññêèé" in Win1251 has 7 letters, whil... See more

But why should it suddently happen? I mean, it's not like I have been playing around with the character encoding settings. And I can post this text here without any problems under the same encoding (Win-1251).

Probably because the question was posted in UTF-8, then the whole page tends to keep this initial encoding. You see the question properly, post your answer in in Win1251 and hence is the problem. But in any case, it is not yours fault. What about THIS page: I am also posting here using Win1251 - but we are posting in English, so no problems. Cutting off answers/questions happens only in the languages which use other alphabets or diacritics. In Russian, the problems most often arise with the so called 'html numeric' when the text looks like [&_#1089; &_#1084; &_#1080; &_#1090; ] ( '_' are inserted by me)

Thanks a lot! Even if cannot help it at least I will know what is going on.
All the answers cut off were for questions posted by the same person, so the encription was the same in all cases.
Thanks again,
Burrell
