Hello everyone,
A friend of mine is asking me for a recommendable Translation and Interpreting School in Italy (MA or higher diploma level). Could the colleagues from Italy having adequate experience provide this info?
I will much appreciate it.
Thanks,

Hi,
I have studied for a semester at the SSLMIT (Scuola Superiore di Lingue Moderne per Interpreti e Traduttori) of the University of Bologna...curriculum is quite interesting....
Otherwise, there is the ISIT (Istituto Universitario per Interpreti e Traduttori) based in the province of Trento.
Regards,

Hi Frédéric,
thanks for your answer. The friend will be living in Rome, so I believe Bologna is a better option. Do they accept foreign nationals as well (non-native speakers of Italian)?
Do you think they have an evening MA course as well?
Thanks again,

Hi Lukasz,
I also went to the SSLMIT in Forlì, even if not for the Master but for my BA. But they do have Master courses and they are also opened to foreign people (there is an admission test anyway).
However, I don´t think it will be possible for your friend to follow the Master while living in another city! Students have to be present at 80% of all lessons and lessons are distributed during the whole day (from 9 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. with breaks of course).

Hi guys,
thank you for letting me know about your experiences.
Is there a good school for translation in Rome, then?
Thanks again.

Let me highly recommend you the Istituto Universitario di Mediazione Linguistica CIELS in Padua. I am one of their teachers,so I know what I am talking about....
There are two options: Diplomacy/International Organisations and Criminology.
The entrance test shall be carried out next September 12 and lessons shall start next October.
Please refer to the Istituto's website www.unimediazione.it... See more Let me highly recommend you the Istituto Universitario di Mediazione Linguistica CIELS in Padua. I am one of their teachers,so I know what I am talking about....
