Hello,
I've downloaded the Okapi plugin.
I put it in the folder \program files 86 \ omegaT \ plugins \
What exactly needs to be placed in the plugin folder?
- the whole zip file
- the Okapi file inside the zip
- only the jar files themselves
I have tried all options, and reopened OmegaT, but it doesn't seem to work.
Anyone can assist?
Thank you. | | | Susan Welsh Estados Unidos Local time: 15:34 ruso al inglés + ... The whole Okapi file | Apr 16, 2015 |
As far as I know -- that's what's in mine. Of course you have to extract it from the zip file. | | | esperantisto Local time: 23:34 Miembro 2006 inglés al ruso + ... LOCALIZADOR DEL SITIO Why do you think… | Apr 16, 2015 |

According to the instructions, "Filter" should appear in the menu
and it doesn't. | |

Not according to the instructions here:
http://www.opentag.com/okapi/wiki/index.php?title=Okapi_Filters_Plugin_for_OmegaT
The instructions delivered with the plugin say:
"The next time you run OmegaT the new filters will be available."
Okapi filters should appear in Options > File Filters.

Thank you Didier.
I found the File Filters under Options.
However, I don't see Sdlxliff in the list.
I added a Sdlxliff file to a new project but it's not recognized.

If the Okapi plugin is correctly installed, you should see "XLIFF file (Okapi)" in the list of filters.
Note also that the Okapi filter must be checked, and that the OmegaT native XLIFF filter ("XLIFF") must be unchecked.

I wonder if you can help me.

There is an incompatibility between OmegaT 3.6 and recent versions of the Okapi plugin. This is perhaps the reason for the message you get.
If that's not already the case, use OmegaT 4.

I've downloaded OmegaT 4 and after a few trials and errors I was able to open the xliff files. What a relief that was! At first OmegaT didn't read the files but then I unchecked one of the options about segmenting (I found this article very useful for this: http://www.velior.ru/2015/12/27/translating-studio-files-in-omegat-never-been-easier/) and I also unchecked a second Okapi filter (2 files). That's the only way I was able to make it work.
If only I had known earlier... I've "lost" quite a lot of work because of this. Anyway, better late than never.
Again, thank you.

One more thing and very important too.
Does OmegaT accept a Trados Studio package or only single xliff files?
Considering a package contains the project's TM, what are the solutions available?
Thank you.

A package is just a zip file. So, simply rename it to .zip, and you can extract the files.
Then, you can use the following tool to convert the TM and the glossary to something you can read with OmegaT:

Hi Didier,
Thanks for your help. I was able to convert the memory into .tmx and translated a xliff test file which was then sent to a colleague to check compatibility with Trados. There was an error however in opening the file. Trados couldn't recognise the target language. I double checked the project on OmegaT and it was correct. What could be the problem here?

I need to make sure that clients will read the files.
Also, when translating xliff files on OmegaT are tags to be removed or not? I tried both with and without them and we still can't read the translated texts in Trados.
Thanks again. ▲ Collapse | | | Páginas sobre el tema: [1 2] > | Este foro no tiene moderador específicamente asignado.
