It is just a question out of my curiosity and not at all a complain or grievance. (That is the reason I have put it into an 'off-topic' category)

I have often seen that, even though I clearly mention my right name as 'Vivek' at the end of the letter, whenever I write or reply to people (mostly first or 2nd times), more than half of the responding people (Mostly Europeans and Americans) reply me with addressing my name as 'Vivec' and not as 'Vivek'.

I do not have any problem out of this, however, I am a little curious that - Is there any natural factor working behind this that naturally turn people to spell my name as 'Vivec'.

Thanking you,

Vivek (and not, Vivec) Raj

the letter "c" (unless immediately followed by the vocals "e" and "i") is pronounced "k" - thus to me your name sounds just as if it was "Vivec", and I have to remember (or check) the spelling to write it correctly
