Dear Annamaria,
If any colleague anywhere in the world feels like sending out his or her best wishes for Yom Kippur, Mid-Sha'ban, St. George's Caye Day, National Hop-around-on-your-toes-Day or whatever, I might reply with best wishes. If this particular holiday concerns me, that is. But I will never EVER reprimand people, tell them that they are offensive or dare to ask them to CORRECT themselves simply because their holiday does not concern me.
Wow. | |

I hope everyone finds the time to relax, reflect and refresh themselves over the holiday season.
To help the mood along, here's a lovely work by Michael Praetorius:

A very Merry Christmas and wonderful holiday break to all! | | | Feliz Navidad | Dec 21, 2010 |
Not the title of the most famous and overrated Christmas song in Spanish, but the real deal phrase to wish all of you the merriest of Christmas.

Nicole, I think you really misunderstood my post. I am quite concerned in this holiday, and that was the very reason why I let James know that he expressed his good wishes with such an unfortunate phrasing that it sounded offensive for the very ones this holiday is named about (Christ-ians) - his initial post sounded like: "who is not one of those Christians" as if something was terribly wrong with the "those" Christians. I kindly let him know his phrasing didn't reflect his obvious good intentions.
Having said that, best wishes to everyone,
Áldott Karácsonyt, Praznic luminos, Merry Christmas and an abundant New Year! | |
