I would like to know if this course is only for beginner Project Managers or if a Project Manager of a small translation/interpretation agency would also benefit. It is not a merely "academic" course, instead, it's an attempt to transfer, in a fast and efficient way, practical knowledge of the translation industry and tools, from professional to professional, explaining what is the reality of everyday life of a translation PM, focusing on the prevention of problems, but especially on the abilities, tools and knowledge needed to solve them, when problems become inevitable. You will go over real case studies and learn the how-to’s and the recommended tools - from what you said this last point is where you could learn about additional skills.
Let me add that in this course you won't find any reference to Gantt charts, Pert, WBS, Six Sigma, Prince2 or any other "high-level" theorization about project management. These methods and tools cannot be taught in a short self-study course like this one. If you are really interested in this discipline and want to leverage your knowledge of project management, we recommend you to join your local PMI (Project Management Institute) http://www.pmi.org/ chapter, become a member and eventually get certified.
Hope this was of help. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have more questions.

However, there is nothing after block 9 and after having uploaded the short assignments. Is that it?
I am not too sure because the overview stated that there was roughly 20 hours of study, and it took me only a couple of hours to read all the content on this page.
Also, could you please point me towards the video tutorials, questionnaires, tests and other eLearning tools as I could not find them.
Maybe I got it wrong and maybe there is an official start date to the course. In which case, it has not started yet...
Thank you for your help.

Hi Soledad,
I am very interested in the course. It says that it is self-paced but even being like that, is there a maximum time that could take us to do the course? I mean, for example during the week I have no time... so I would have to use the weekends, for example in 2 weekends I would have it done, but as there are also assignments, I don't know if there would be like an specific time to do that. Could you please clarify this? Hope I explained myself... Thanks in advance... See more Hi Soledad,

Hi Nathalie,
The contents for this course are distributed among the 9 blocks you can see on its main page. The calculated time needed to cover the course was a rough approximation. Regarding multimedia content, there are no videos for this specific course.
Feel free to contact me if you need any further explanation.
Kind regards and thanks for attending the course

Hi María,
The course is meant to be attended anytime. There's no maximum time. Once you're enrolled you can access the content anytime, as far as I know.
As Nathalie pointed out, the expected hours needed to cover the course are probably miscalculated. However, I still think that it's better if you "digest" the contents in at least 2 days, not all at once.
Kind regards

Hi,
I don't understand why there is a limited number of slots if this is self paced and you can access any time as long as it's during the timeframe. Also when is the next session?
Thanks | | | Thanks for reporting this | Aug 11, 2011 |
Hello mame1070,
Good catch! Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I have updated the slots limit, therefore please feel free to click on Purchase for $50 on the right upper corder to proceed with purchase and please let me know if you need anything else.
