What's all this interest in my photo? You'll be very disappointed when I finally get round to putting one on - or should I keep you all guessing....
I'll be there for drinks (I always am) but regret a previous appointment in the evening means I will have to stagger off to Nuenen before eight and won't be able to join you for dinner. I'll see if I can change it, but don't count me in for a meal. A couple of pinda's maybe...

Thanks everyone who has confirmed their attendance so far! I will go to the pub tomorrow and tell them the final number, so it would be great if the few people who are still tentative could indicate their attendance until then. But don’t worry if you don’t know for sure yet, 2 or 3 people more or less would not cause the pub any trouble on the day (I hope...).

Hello all,
As mentioned yesterday, there will be an option for an earlier start of the powwow:
Henk kindly offered to talk about a paper that he’s preparing, which will surely provide some incentives for an interesting discussion. His reading will be about Nederlandse plaatsnamen (in Dutch) – about how place names originated, how they evolved, how they connect and much more.

Henk kindly offered to talk about a paper that he’s preparing, which will surely provide some incentives for an interesting discussion. His reading will be about Nederlandse plaatsnamen (in Dutch) – about how place names originated, how they evolved, how they connect and much more.
The meeting place for this will be an Irish pub called Celtic Pride, located about 10-15 minutes from the train station. They kindly allowed us to use their room upstairs for the reading. (I will post directions in the main powwow box shortly.)
Let’s meet outside the Celtic Pride between 1 and 1:30 - inside, if the weather is bad - and have a coffee and a chat before we proceed upstairs to listen to Henk’s talk. For those interested, they also serve a variety of other drinks as well as some snacks (no sweets though, as far as I know…). The rest of the afternoon/evening will then go ahead as planned, with the table reserved for us in Trafalgar for 4:30.
I hope many of you will be interested in joining us earlier!

I don't want to contradict Marion but the Parkeergarage is expensive, as are all the underground and multi-storeys in Eindhoven. There are two long term car parks not that far from the station (easterly direction) which charge an all-day rate. If coming from Gelderland on the A50 (presumably) you enter Eindhoven near IKEA and then continue on the Kennedylaan towards the Centrum (it's actually the same road). That brings you into the city with the University on your left and some big bowling pins (they call it art) in the middle of the road. Turn left at the T-junction and the car partk is just along there.
At least it was last time I looked, but Eindhoven is 'leading in technology' so they probably moved it. I'll get on my bike tomorrow and have a look.
