I have my favourite newspapers and blogs on my iGoogle homepage, so I can see updates and headlines at a glance. It's really useful!

Me too; you can even add your Proz jobs list to iGoogle. Didn't realise it was called RSS until this poll though!

Of course I do. I'm an Internet kid. It always amazes me how many responses the "What is this?" options get in these polls. But I have come to the conclusion that I spend more time online than the average Proz.com user. Much more time..

As a long-time sufferer of authors who do not define their acronyms, I have come to the conclusion that they do not deserve to have them translated, and now keep banging on about it in the hope they will take heed (this has worked for me in some cases) and finally ease the translator's burden. I don't know what RSS is, and my ignorance rankles, leading to a predisposition to reject or dislike it.

Yes, I do use an RSS reader so I can read updated translation blog posts. I use Google Reader.

Apart from news, info from other sites etc. there are so many useful translation-related blogs to follow. I'm surprised how low the 'No' figure is. @Neilmac I agree that over-abundant (company internal) acronyms rankle. If you are no friend of Wikipedia, here's some enlightenment from 'Auntie'. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/help/3223484.stm

And finally (promise) here's an interesting video about RSS feeds. I discovered this via my RSS feed reader. See more

I use the Google Reader. It's quite useful for keeping up with things. A couple of my friends have blogs that I like to follow, and it saves constantly looking to see if there are any new entries. But I forgot to check the Reader on a regular basis, too... So thanks for the reminder!

Thanks a lot for all the information! It's most helpful, as I am also one of those who said: What is an RSS feed?
But now I see that they seem to be quite useful...

I use Google Reader integrated into Outlook's RSS Feeds. I have Outlook showing on a separate monitor which means I can always have an eye on all my feeds.
